CANINE INFLUENZA

Last year there was a canine influenza outbreak in the Chicago area.  This is a highly contagious virus that may cause serious illness and resulting complications in your dog(s).  We offer the influenza vaccine and highly recommend that you get your dog(s) vaccinated, especially if you travel often or your dog is regularly exposed to other dogs via kennels, groomers, etc. 

The dogs that are at most risk for serious complications are the very young, very old, or those that have existing health conditions. 

Symptoms include:

• lethargy (tiredness)
• cough (with or without phlegm)
• lack of appetite
• vomiting
• runny nose
• rapid breathing
• fever
